Five years ago today, I remember sitting on the couch with Jason, snuggling, when he stood up and said, "I know this might be cheesy, but I have some music on my computer and I thought it would be fun to slow dance." Cheesy nothing- I was in Heaven! He had put together a Valentines Day playlist specifically for the evening and he turned on the first song, held his hand out to me, and pulled me into his arms. We spent the next hour or so talking and laughing and dancing close. At this point in our dating career- he hadn't told me he loved me. For both of us, we had reserved that statement for the one we knew we were going to end up with for eternity. I think I knew it was coming- he had hinted at marriage once or twice that night- and I couldn't have been happier at the prospect. During the last song, he pulled me close and whispered into my ear, "Guess what?" I grinned and whispered back, "What?" to which he replied the words I'd been hoping to hear since our 1st date- "I love you." Joy and excitement overflowed in my heart and I whispered back, "I love you too." Since then, on every Valentines Day I am reminded of that evening we spent dancing- of our very first declaration of love- a love which has only grown as the years have gone by. I love you Jason!! Thanks for loving ME!
